Mildred is a blossoming, expansive, and unrelentingly hopeful machine of hyperbolic noise from Glendale, California. Blending the textures and atmospheres of shoegaze with the ambition of post-rock and the harshness of hardcore, they stand on their own as an incomparable and demanding force. They’ve played alongside the likes of Clay Birds, Crowning, Febuary, and State Faults. Their debut record, Pt. 2, was met with acclaim from fans and critics alike, and left them hungry for whatever could come next. Pt. 1, Mildred’s sophomore album, delivers on all fronts and begs to be heard. They joined forces with Dead Mothers Collective in 2025 to roll out their latest, most ambitious project to date.
FFO: Slowdive, Swans, HTRK, The Goslings, The Birthday Party, and many others.
Hailing from Flagstaff, Arizona, Washed is an uncompromising breed of post-hardcore that bastardizes the clean complexities of 90s post-rock with crushing noise experimentation and a sludgy tenacity. Their debut record, Teaching A Dog To Burn, demonstrated their expansive ambition and proved to only extend their outward trajectory. They’ve played alongside Planning For Burial, Febuary, Bulletsbetweentongues, Flooding, and many others. They began as one of two founding bands in Dead Mothers Collective, and continue to work closely alongside them for any and everything.
FFO: Sprain, Chat Pile, Slint, Dystopia, Unwound, and many others.
After a biblical exodus from the faraway land of D.C., Taciturn arrived in Phoenix, Arizona with the tendrils of a pre-existing musical career, having already released a live album with Dischord records and their 2019 full-length debut, Punk Death. They’ve played alongside the likes of Flooding and Knifeplay. In 2023, frontman Nyle Hamidi began recording and filming shows in Arizona, and the rest is Dead Mothers history. Taciturn was another founding band in Dead Mothers Collective’s roster, and their fans have waited impatiently for their upcoming sophomore album.
FFO: Sonic Youth, My Bloody Valentine, Syd Barrett, Pixies, Protomartyr, and many others.
tokillafly (formerly known as 137 Ways to Kill a Fly) began as a noise-punk quartet from hell, although they quickly gained traction in the screamo scene with their emotional breakdowns and quiet refrains. They disbanded in 2025 with the release of their final, self-titled EP. While they were active, they were close collaborators with Dead Mothers Collective and shared members with other bands formative to our existence.
FFO: OLTH, Blind Girls, Jeromes Dream, me and him call it us, Senza, and many others.
Forming from the ashes of local legends, Cenöbite, in late 2023, journal already needed no introduction in their subsect of the Phoenix, Arizona scene. Slashing choruses juxtaposed with precise songwriting and guttural emotion, they rose to become one of the most exciting screamo bands of the southwest. In 2025, especially, they saw a spike in interest while touring alongside Febuary, …and its name was epyon, and others. They recorded their infamous self-titled EP with Dead Mothers Collective in the Spring of 2024.
FFO: Love Lost But Not Forgotten, Orchid, letters to catalonia, Daïtro, Knumears, and many others.
